E-resources: Proxy Server

What is the Proxy Server?

The proxy server works by allowing your home computer to appear as if it is at the University. Each of the resources below has a separate proxy URL for you to log in to.

Why do I need to use the proxy server?

Some resources cannot be authenticated via Shibboleth / OpenAthens. If you are trying to use them off campus you will need to use the specific proxy URL set up for the resource and found at the end of the resource description via the Online databases and academic journals link in the Search the Library portlet in the My Learning/Learning Support page in the portal.

How do I use the proxy server?

Select the proxy URL link at the end of the description in the portal A-Z list for the resources shown below.

A note about the FT.com (Financial Times)

We apologise for the delay in creating the FT.com (Financial Times) URL and expect this to be available soon. You will need to register to use the FT.com while you are on campus. Once this has been done you can access FT.com content via their website and iOS and Android apps from any device off campus.
