When do I incur a fine?

Fines accumulate from the day after the book is due back.

How do I know if I have a library fine?

Check your account using the portal or the self-service machines in the library. Fines are only displayed on your account when the books are returned or renewed.

What happens if I get a library fine?

As long as your fine is less than £20, you can continue using the library as normal. If your fines accumulate to £20 or more, you will be unable to borrow books until you have brought the total down to under £20.

How can I pay my charges?

Charges can be paid at the self-service machines using cash or a credit or debit card. Please note card payments will only accepted if the amount is over £5. Telephone payments over £5 can be made Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm by calling 020 8331 9651.

What happens if I have lost a book?

If you have lost a book, please inform a member of staff at the Help Desk and carry on renewing the book online. If the book isn’t found, you will need to pay for the replacement cost of the book.
