Whether it is help with essay writing, research for an assignment, working with numbers, referencing, or more, our drop-ins in the Academic Skills Hub provide help and advice from Librarians, Academic Skills Tutors and from Maths and Statistics specialists. No need to book an appointment, just turn up.

Meet with one of our Academic Support Team and get help with academic skills and research for your coursework, essay or dissertation.

Academic Services Librarians can help with finding quality academic information for your University assignments and understanding how reference information sources in your academic work.

Academic Skills Tutors can give you advice and guidance about particular academic study issues. For example, you may show a draft  of your work to a tutor who could advise on matters relating to the structure of your essay, how critically you write, how you draw on academic sources in your writing, and how you reference those sources, etc.

iPROGRESS is a collection of learning resources aimed at helping you use information effectively and ethically in your academic work. There are five modules within iPROGRESS:

• Locating Information for an Academic Project;
• Bibliographic Citation;
• Avoiding Plagiarism;
• Finding Quality Information on the Internet;
• Effective Use of Social Media

Completion of iPROGRESS can help enhance your employability skills. If you complete all the modules, you will be awarded with a Moodle badge which you can use to obtain Employability Passport points.

The Maths Centre provide MASH, drop-in mathematics and statistics help. Sessions are run at each of the three campuses. There is no need to book - you just turn up (but bring your lecture notes!) Maths tutors will help you understand the maths or stats that you need, whatever its level.
