Please use this guide to explore the key locations on the ground floor, then go beyond and discover what else we have to offer. Stockwell Street Library has five floors and most books are on the basement, first and second floors. The tour takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. You can also download this tour as a zip file.
We have three campus libraries, with stock to support all the subjects taught at the University. We have nearly 132,000 printed books, 70 current print journal titles, more than 950,000 electronic journals and over 18,000 e-books. We also provide access to a huge number of electronic databases, which may be used to search for information in books, journals and other publications. Our electronic resources are available to users both on and off campus.
How to navigate this guide
Every stage of your tour will contain at least one photo or video, and a short description about where you are and what you are looking at, plus additional information. Use the arrows to the left and right of the images to move through the pages of the tour.
Your Greenwich Gateway ID card is also your Library card. You need it to get in and out of the building, to borrow books and to photocopy, scan and print.
Food and Drink
Cold food and drinks are allowed in the basement, ground floor and first floor. There is also a vending machine on the ground floor for hot drinks.

Come to the Library Welcome Desk if you need any assistance. We are here from 8am to 9pm during the week and 9am to 5pm at weekends.

Meet the Academic Support Team
Vik is the Academic Services Librarian for law, criminology, history, politics and social science, as well as literature, language and theatre.
Mike is an Academic Skills Tutor. He holds workshops and individual appointments online.

The Self-Issue Machines
This is a quick and easy way to borrow books, as you can take them all out at once. Just tap your card on the machine and place all of your books on on the space indicated under the screen.
Students can borrow up to 40 books at a time. Books will be issued for either 4 weeks, or 7 days, they will renew automatically unless reserved by another user.

Return your books here during building opening hours.
The Reservation Area
You can place reservations on items using LibrarySearch that are currently unavailable. You will receive an email when they are ready for collection.
You can reserve up to 10 books at any one time.
Here are our printers, also known as Multi-Functional Devices or MFDs. You can print, photocopy and scan on any floor of the Library, except the third.
Next to the plotter there is also a large-format scanner.
There are male, female and accessible toilets located on all floors.
Water fountains are located on all floors.

Bookable Group Study Rooms
We have 10 group study rooms at the back of the 1st and 2nd floor. The rooms are of various sizes and contain a range of technologies.

We also have 3 bookable pods for single occupancy.
You can log on to the computers and printers with your Greenwich username and password. We have over 250 Windows PCs and Apple iMacs.
