A Guide to GREFest 2024

Welcome to GREFest, our annual festival of skills

GREFest Library: Generated by copilot

What is GREFest?

GREFest is our festival of skills to welcome you to the start of the university year. Whether you’re studying from home or staying with us on campus, you’ll be able to participate in our interactive session, aimed specifically at students on UK-based courses and campuses

GREFest takes place in September and comprises of Welcome Week (9-13 September) and Skills Week (16-20 September). Welcome week  takes place on all three campuses (Avery Hill, Greenwich and Medway) and online. Skills Week is online only. There are plenty of useful, informative and fun sessions to support you whatever your academic needs. You will find live sessions where you can meet students just like yourselves, plus tutors and librarians who are ready to support your studies, as well as experts from support services such as Wellbeing, Student Finance, Employability & Apprenticeships and the International Student Team.

GREFest is packed full of events to support you as you begin your university journey. Check out what is going on each day - have fun, take a look around and chill out - trust us, you can't break anything! At GREFest, YOU, the students, are the guest stars! We are looking forward to meeting you. Please join in and meet the Academic and Digital Skills Team - we may even ask you for your autograph!

What Students Say

Three young men gathered around a laptop

This was absolutely brilliant! I'm so glad even though it's online a lot of fun can still be had.

Three young people sitting around a table with laptops, smiling

These sessions have been really helpful when trying to settle into uni life and the new technology that was going to be used

Loved the interactive sections - they helped me to learn and gain confidence.

Two women sitting with a laptop

It's been more than 8 years since I last sat in the classroom, so these sessions will definitely help me with my academic skills and easy writing which am nervous about at the moment. So thanks for such help.

Loved all the interactive bits of the session and the relaxed feel of the people presenting - felt more engaged as a result.

Really helped to learn to use the Portal and to be able to get advice as a mature student.
