Student panel 1: My personal future

Abiodun Ijiyode: 3rd year, Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences

Abiodun IjiyodeI am currently studying adult nursing at the university of Greenwich, I am in my final year and I'm planning and preparing for my future life as a nurse.

Mihaela Zalevschi: 1st year, Faculty of Business

I am an enthusiast. Also a realistic person. Also, an introvert which acts like an extrovert. But most importantly, I am a person that wants to grow and inspire others to grow too. My journey is long, with rises and falls (still falling tho) and I have an urge to please the "past me" and support the "future me", and I want to speak about it.

Danielle Broadhurst: 3rd year, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Danielle BroadhurstMy presentation will focus on the qualities I would like future me to have, such as, to keep working to overcome my anxiety and be more confident in myself; to be happier and kinder to myself; to keep learning both academically and about myself and the world; and to try to help others utilising my past experiences and the challenges I have overcome - and am still overcoming.

Returning to full-time study as a direct entry mature student has helped me on this path to becoming the future me I hope I will be.  In my presentation I would look at the difficult challenges I have faced in my life, the challenges I expect to face, and how I would like to take control of these challenges and keep developing myself.

I hope the process of presenting will challenge my anxieties and help me to see how far I’ve come, and where I have the potential to go; and to celebrate my successes more and plan for the future. Recently, I have taken a mental note of Captain Picard’s inspirational speech to new recruits to the academy: “May you all go boldly into a future free from the shackles of the past.”

Nina Tymoshenko: Student at the Bodhan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkassy

The future is just around the corner, and it requires Nina Tymoshenko specialists of a new level. Namely, people who learn twice as fast, work twice as fast, and can multitask and be creative. I would like to share my own experience about the benefits of combining the study of humanities and engineering. And also some predictions for my near future.

Nguyen Ngoc Yen Nhi (Sherry Nguyen): 3rd year, University of Greenwich, Vietnam

Sherry NguyenTechnological advancements will shift human life to a new chapter in the future. In the end, many systematic and repetitive job positions will be replaced by automated technology. With technology ideas being conducted and tested to save time and costs and maximize efficiency, the education, health, tourism, mass production, mechanical and transportation industries will experience dramatic changes in the future. Many job positions will be eliminated and replaced by technology and machines.

As a senior graphic design student, I will also face the challenges and threats of career opportunities created by artificial intelligence and technology. To prepare for future jobs and contributions, I am doing interdisciplinary learning. I am trying to get out of my comfort zone of art and design context and continuously study more about other highly related topics such as AI, augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, programming languages, psychology, history, Etc. On the other hand, I believe that preserving tradition is always a crucial part of everyone's life. Therefore, throughout my study and research, I always found ways to achieve this goal by merging Vietnamese practices and technology in every project I participated.
