Support for Apprenticeship Learners

A guide signposting Apprenticeship learners to support with their studies

Critical thinking refers to the ability to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information effectively. It involves questioning assumptions, reasoning logically, and considering multiple perspectives to form well-founded conclusions. In academic settings, critical thinking is essential for fostering intellectual growth, conducting rigorous research, and advancing knowledge across disciplines. It empowers learners to navigate complex ideas, challenge conventional wisdom, and contribute meaningfully to their fields of study.

Critical thinking can be tough to get to grips with if you have never done it before. Here are some resources to help you get used to the concepts around critical thinking.

What is Critical Thinking?

Academic integrity at university encompasses a commitment to honesty, fairness, and ethical conduct in all aspects of academic life. It involves upholding the principles of originality, citation, and respect for others' intellectual property. Learners are expected to submit their own work, cite sources accurately through referencing, and refrain from plagiarism or cheating. Adhering to academic integrity standards fosters a culture of trust, integrity, and excellence within the academic community, ensuring the credibility of academic achievements.

Academic Integrity - The Big Picture

Studiosity is an essay checking service that supports learners by giving them feedback on their work. It provides online access to live, on-demand assistance from qualified tutors in various subjects, allowing students to receive help with homework, assignments, and study questions. Additionally, Studiosity offers writing feedback and academic skills development resources to enhance learners' learning experiences and academic performance.

Once you receive feedback on your work from Studiosity it is important to make changes to improve your marks. The following recording will show you how to access and use Studiosity to your advantage.
