Assistive equipment available in the Stockwell Street Library

Height Adjustable Tables

There are height adjustable tables located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of Stockwell Street Library. (Please ask a member of staff to assist with raising or lowering the height of the table).

These tables have a blue triangular sign. They can also be identified as each leg has an  additional layer. (See image)​.


Devices to assist with visual impairment

Large Key keyboard.Available with White or Yellow keys.

These keyboards can be plugged into any PC/MAC using the USB connector. You do not have to unplug the existing keyboard.

Ask at the Stockwell Street Library Welcome Desk if you would like to use one of these keyboards, or email in advance at mglsastaff@gre.ac.uk

 Here is an example of a yellow Large Key keyboard.


Assistive listening devices

Infra red loops - These work with hearing aids and can be adapted for use with headphones.

For use in the lecture theatres in Stockwell Street Building 11. (11_0003 and 11_0004) They work by receiving an infra-red signal from the front of the hall. The battery lasts around 12 hours.

Portable 1 to 1 induction loop

These work only with hearing aids with a 'T' setting.

This loop has a range of approximately 1.2 meters and a battery life of four hours (perfect for use in our bookable group study rooms).
