Help accessing library resources, individual inductions to the library or help or advice about how we can help you with your studies is always available for groups or individuals. Contact us to discuss your requirements:

Access to Library Buildings

The main entrance to all library buildings is through the automatic doors at the main entrance. Security staff are located just inside the entrance and can assist you with entrance into the library, where the doors are not power assisted.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the library buildings with their owners .

Borrowing items

Users with disabilities or dyslexia may be entitled to borrow 7 day loans for 14 days if the Student Wellbeing Service recommends this.

If you have not yet spoken to the Student Wellbeing Service they can be contacted at wellbeing@gre.ac.uk

Getting items from the shelves

Any member of library staff can also help you get items from the shelves and/or carrying books with 3 days notice. Just ask.

Subject support

Your Academic Services Librarian will be happy to answer any subject-related questions you have. Our LibGuides contacts page lists the librarians looking after your subject.

For help with study support and advice about financial assistance contact the Student Wellbeing Team.

Using our Wi-Fi

We have wireless in all of our libraries. This enables all borrowers to access the internet on their phone, laptop or other wireless device. 
  • eduroam - for UoG staff and students and SCONUL students.

(Use your log in details from your home library to access eduroam)

For extra help using eduroam contact the nearest Library or IT Service Desk.

 

Named contacts, Personal assistants, Support workers and Carers

We have members of staff who are happy to be a named contact for anyone who feels this would be helpful. If you are likely to need assistance in the library please email library@gre.ac.uk and we will be in touch.

  • They can help you to find and carry books from the shelves.
  • They can introduce you to assistive tools and technologies available at the library
  • They can show you different places to study in the library.

You may also have: a personal assistant, support worker or carer, who is able to able to visit the library with you.

  • They will need to apply for an affiliate ID card
  • They are not able to take out any items or books for you  (all books must be taken out using your own library account).
