Visitor Access: Stockwell Street Library

Facilities and services for parents accompanied by children at Stockwell Street Library

Children or young persons accompanied by staff and students are permitted into open access areas and other low risk areas on University premises during core hours at the discretion of the local Manager. The university policy can be found here:

We are always happy to help and support any student or staff as much as we can.

  • Students or staff accompanied by children may ask for assistance from library staff at the entrance gates. If you are returning books you can hand the books to us and we will return them for you.
  • If you need to borrow books, library staff can collect books from the shelves and the reservation area for you. Make sure you have your Greenwich ID card with you as we cannot issue any books to your account without it.
It is helpful if the library is contacted in advance if help is needed.
  • If you need to speak to a member of library staff such as your subject librarian, then that member of staff can easily come downstairs and talk to you in the foyer. Note that this applies during Monday to Friday business hours 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
  • If you are visiting outside of core hours, evenings and weekends, and the person you need to speak to is not available, remember that you can make an appointment to see them another time. Please email the Academic Support Team at
