Academic Skills Hub

Our AcAcademic Skills Hub Idea logoademic Skills Hub has some great guides that will help get you started with your academic writing and work. There are useful articles which cover all aspects of academic skills and recordings from past workshops that you can watch in your own time.

iProgress

iProgress logo

iPROGRESS is a collection of learning resources aimed at helping you use information effectively and ethically in your academic work. It includes the following sections:

  • Information for Academic Study
  • Finding Quality Information on the Internet
  • Referencing
  • Avoiding Plagiarism
  • Locating information for a Project

Completion of the iPROGRESS courses can help enhance your employability skills. If you complete all the courses, you can request a Certificate of Achievement. The certificate recognises completion of the courses stated and it does not bear any credit.

Accessing iProgress

iPROGRESS is a Moodle course written by library staff to help you make effective use of the library and computing resources and services available to you as a student at the University.

To access the course you have to login to the University of Greenwich student portal. 

Follow these steps:

  • Go to the university home page www.gre.ac.uk
  • From the My Greenwich drop down menu select Student Portal
  • Login with your University of Greenwich username and password. (If you have problems logging in select the Need Help?  link below the login boxes and complete the online support request form)
  • Once logged in select the My learning/Learning support page 
  • Go to the Library Support portlet and select the iPROGRESS information skills course link.
  • NB The first time you use the course you may be prompted to select the Enrol Me button. Once you have done this the course will always appear in your list of Moodle courses.

You can also login directly to iPROGRESS. Just enter your portal username and password.

Guides and learning resources

Further online support is available via guides and videos. 

  • The 'Finding Online Resources'  LibGuide will tell you more about the using the Library resource online, and how to make the most of them. 
  • If you want to know how you are getting on, iPROGRESS is a collection of learning resources aimed at helping you use information effectively and ethically in your academic work.  There is also the Palgrave Skills4Study Campus online learning resource. It's accessed via Moodle.
