The following instructions relate only to the panel illustrated below.

6 Button Extron Panel Instructions

PLEASE DO NOT INDIVIDUALLY TURN OFF SCREENS OR PIECES OF KIT. PLEASE USE THE "SHUTDOWN" BUTTON ON THE CONTROL PANEL.

Turning the system on:

On this type of button panel, if the system is turned off, the “Off” button will be highlighted. To turn the system on, you will need to press the “On” button and wait until the start-up sequence has finished – the “On” button will flash while the system starts up. Once the sequence has completed, the “On” button will be solid and the room PC (on which you can log in with your Portal login) button will be selected as the default source – this will also be solid.  


Turning the system off: 

To turn the system off, simply press the “Off” button – this will kickstart the shutdown sequence during which the button will be flashing. Once the sequence has completed the “Off” button will turn solid. Please ensure you turn the system off at the end of your session (unless the following session’s lecturer is already in the room).  

  • Press “Doc cam” button The doc cam light will switch on automatically
  • Use the doc cam controls on the doc cam itself to adjust settings as needed

  • When done, switch back to PC.
  • Doc cam light will switch off automatically
  • There are two external connection options: HDMI and VGA

  • To use the HDMI connection, plug the cable into your laptop and press the HDMI button
  • To use the VGA connection, plug the cable into your laptop and press the VGA button. Remember to also plug in the sound connection attached to the cable
  • Mac users: for both USB-C and VGA, you may need to select the correct audio output in Sound Settings on your laptop

Volume adjustment

  • To turn the volume up or down, adjust the volume dial as needed
